More excited readers –

Good job.  You have come up with an amazing list.  I have glanced through the main courses and there is a fabulous variety with a good selection of tastes and textures.  Much more variety then I have been currently preparing and some of the combinations I haven’t thought of that have made me wonder about other possibilities.  It really is a great grouping of recipes, not to mention the ingredients are totally realistic and the preparation is simple.  Mostly stuff I have in my cupboard.  When we started Eat to Live I checked out some whole foods recipe books from the library and they were all so far out there and totally unrealistic for both my budget and time that I just returned them.  This is a great collection of down to earth, edible by families and affordable recipes.  Exactly what you have promised.  I am excited to hear peoples reactions and feedback to your system. ~ Rachel H.

Dear Elisa, Just read your blog, looked at your videos, etc.  Love it.  So tomorrow I will order your binder. ~ Sabrina

This is what I have been looking for. I have studied whole food nutrition as well, but it seems that implementation of EVERYTHING there is to learn can be overwhelming. I am excited to have more recipes to add variety and better combinations to what I am already doing. This system is not only great for beginners, but is a huge support to anyone who has already been on the path! ~ Kerissa T.

  1. Great article Elisa. Does your whole foods blinder system include organic whole foods? I know eating organic is more expensive but organic foods are grown more naturally…with no pesticides and other chemicals that are harmful to us.

    1. I love to eat organic as much as possible. I grow my food organically. Sometimes the price of organic food in the city is just too high to justify buying it, so I only buy it if it is slightly more expensive. The Whole Foods Binder System helps people who have been eating a diet of processed foods to switch over to whole foods one easy step at a time and as slow or as quick as they choose.

  2. This reminds me of a paleo diet. The way our bodies are build to digest and absorb food fits well with your plan Elisa. Processed foods are responsible for stomach and intestinal issues, sensitivities, diverticulitis, and obesity to say a few. Our addiction for sugars creates a vicious cycle. Furthermore, the most nutrients comes from whole, unprocessed foods. Peal a carrot, there goes a major part of the nutrients. Same with a potato, yams, etc. This is some great information and I look forward to testing out this program!

    Best wishes,
    Mike

    1. Yes you are right Mike. It is a lot like the paleo diet as far as using foods in their whole natural form. It differs from the paleo diet in than it focuses on the agricultural side of foods, as in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds. The paleo is often more of the hunter/gatherer type of diet and I have not seen long term health gains through that type of eating. The focus needs to be on the most nutritious foods we can get and calorie for calorie you can’t beat whole food plant based nutrition.

  3. Thanks much for this article Elisa. I strongly believe in the eating of whole foods, these contribute to the health of children and adults alike; they help to cure sicknesses and prevent sicknesses. By using these foods we make our food our medicine and our medicine our food. Do you think it would be better or cheaper to plant our own food stuff if we can?

    1. You quoted Hippocrates 🙂 Now I know you have read about this subject before! You and Hippocrates are right, our food is our medicine. If we eat junk, we are going to feel like junk.

One of the main reasons I plant my own food every year is because of how cheap it is. You can’t beat the price of homegrown food compared to the same quality of stuff at the store. Oh, never mind! You can’t GET the same quality at the store… Ha Ha! You can plant in the ground, in grow boxes, on your patio, or even on your counter. It does make a difference.

  4. Wow!!! Such an eye opener what we can do to better ourselves and our children. This looks like quite the system-I love how thorough you were in explaining how great this system is and all the benefits that would come with it. You definitely caught my attention, that’s for sure!

  5. Whole foods are really great. I used lots of supplements for my body building routine but none of them works like whole foods. And as a family we have a problem of not enough variety in flavor. Thanks for great writing I will definitely check it out.

    1. My oldest son does a lot of bodybuilding too. He was really into supplements and still finds some of them helpful, but lately he has taken his mom’s advice and is supplementing with food 🙂 He tells me he feels great and it is working. It’s cool to hear that whole foods work for you too. Let me know when you try the soup and what you think. We all have different taste buds, so who knows?

  6. Whole foods is very essential to our health, I agree with this completely. I like that people are benefiting and becoming more healthy with this system. We are lacking so much nutrients that there are vitamin deficiencies increasing and so is obesity. I am glad to see that something such as this exists, I hope more people take notice and start taking action.

    1. Thanks for visiting and commenting on my site Damian! I think people are taking notice of the health crisis, so now they need to take notice of what I can do to help, and what Whole Foods can do for them 🙂 Have a super day.
